BERGFELD’s brought a previously unaddressed subject to the conference this year.  “Coping With Hoarding Problems” outlined the unique challenges that hoarding behavior presents along with steps to identify, assess, and address these situations.

The National Joint Conference of the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and the Association on Aging (ASA)

BERGFELD’s was invited for the second consecutive year to present a workshop on hoarding at the National Joint Conference of the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and the Association on Aging (ASA) which took place on

March 16th – 19th, 2006 in Anaheim, California.  Kristin presented on the negotiations, procedures, and all the practical “nuts and bolts” required to clear and reconfigure hoarding clients’ homes and reorganize their lives.  Her focus was on BERGFELD’s successful experience helping more than 50 clients in the past five years.

Kristin joined with colleagues Susan Siroto (MSW Program Director, Search and Care) and Judy Willig (LCSW Executive Director, Heights and Hill Community Council).  Both are experienced professionals in the psychological dynamics and treatment of hoarding.
